The Botanist, Kirribilli

Been eyeing this place for quite sometime and finally got a chance to pay a visit. A friend and I went during lunch time on a Friday. When we arrived around 12 the place was still 90% empty, and it didn't stay like that for long as workers around the area started flocking in for a Friday lunch/drinks.

After deliberating which dishes to order, we decided to try their pizza and pork belly dish.

Chicken, pepperoni, olive & spinach pizza ($20)

This pizza was seriously a hit. I liked the thin and crispy crust, also the topping was pretty generous. It was actually enough to feed 2 girls (1 pizza = 8 slices), but we didn't stop there...

Pork belly with kipflers and fennel ($22)

And ordered this, a very sinful dish. The pork was actually very juicy, however, too bad the seasoning did not hit the mark. The pork crackling was very salty, but the actual meat was kind of tasteless. So unfortunate.

The quirky little details

All in all, I quite enjoyed the food, especially the pizza. Will definitely come back for more of it in the future (and probably try some other dishes on the menu). The place is quite cosy for hanging around and the food is decently priced.
